[edit]"The band, Steel Dragon also resembles British rock band Def Leppard, both in appearance and in music and a track by Def Leppard was actually featured in the film. Ironically actor Dominic West who portrayed the character of Kirk Cuddy in the film is himself from Sheffield"
He's from Sheffield, so what? What's that got to do with Def Leppard?
Def Leppard are from Sheffield... In other words, it has EVERYTHING to do with Def Leppard.

Fair use rationale for Image:Steel Dragon Band.jpg
[edit]Image:Steel Dragon Band.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Cast Question
[edit]Who was the actress who played the character, presumably involved in the off screen orgy, who used the lavatory while standing up (the morning after the orgy)?
Dagmara Domińczyk — Preceding unsigned comment added by ModerateTy (talk • contribs) 01:17, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
Moreover, is this character really a shemale?
No. She is not. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.8.202.60 (talk) 03:50, 25 July 2011 (UTC)

Film genre
[edit]The article says this film is a drama but I bought this movie in a collection of romantic comedies so I've thought ever since I bought it that the film is a romantic comedy. Not a drama. Some scenes like Tania standing up is ridiculous and when Mats said, "break a leg" before Chris fell, it was kind of funny when you watch it a second or third time after knowing what will happen next. Requested move
[edit]Rock Star (2001 film) → Rock Star (film) – Relisted. Vegaswikian (talk) 21:41, 9 October 2011 (UTC)
I suggest renaming this article to Rock Star (film) for the following reasons:
- Rock Star (film) was the original name. The article was renamed in good faith, but no consensus was shown
- Disambiguation is needed from other topics but not between films of the same name (see below), and WP:NCF clearly suggests the format Title (film) in this case
- There are many incoming links[1] to Rock Star (film), which are not being changed
The Hindi musical Rockstar (film) has a similar name, but the names are not the same, nor similar enough to cause any technical difficulties in using both names for different topics. Naturally, some readers may confuse the two films, so each article should have a hatnote linking to the other, and their years should be shown on Rock Star and any other relevant disambiguation pages. Certes (talk) 23:16, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
P.S. Let's also redirect Rock Star (movie) here, not to the general dab page Rock Star. Certes (talk) 23:18, 2 October 2011 (UTC)
- Support. In my opinion, the title is sufficiently different from Rockstar (film), that this can be covered by the use of hatnotes. Jenks24 (talk) 00:00, 4 October 2011 (UTC)
- Oppose. The article names "Rockstar (film)" and "Rock Star (film)" do not sufficiently disambiguate the titles. BOVINEBOY2008 18:33, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
- The Hindi musical article Rockstar (film) has moved to Rockstar (2011 film) again. If it's going to stay there then maybe we should give up on this move for consistency. As Rock Star (film) (along with Rock Star (movie) and Rockstar (film)) points to the disambiguation page Rock Star rather than to the only film of that name, I suppose we need to clean up all the WP:DABLINKs that have been left pointing to it. Certes (talk) 18:54, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
- Not done - no consensus, and given there is more than one film of this title, retaining Rock Star (film) - and Rock Star (movie) - as disambiguation pages is appropriate. If you need assistance with updating the disambiguation links then you could ask a bot owner for help. fish&karate 12:47, 17 October 2011 (UTC)
Outcome of requested move
[edit]A number of changes were made whilst the requested move was pending. The situation as at 21 October 2011 is:
- Rock Star is a disambiguation page with incoming redirects from Rock Star (disambiguation), Rock Star (film), Rock Star (movie), Rockstar (movie) and several other titles, but not Rockstar (film);
- Rock Star (2001 film) is an article about the English language film with one incoming redirect from Steel Dragon;
- Rockstar (2011 film) is an article about the Hindi musical with no incoming redirects;
- Rockstar (film), Rockstar (2001 film) and Rockstar (2010 film) were speedily deleted.
All incoming links seem to point to the right places, and the deletion of Rockstar (film) has removed the main target to which new links were being misdirected. Certes (talk) 18:53, 21 October 2011 (UTC)
Reaction from Judas Priest
[edit]I think we should add a section on the reaction to the film from members of Judas Priest and Tim Owens, since the story is loosely based on him.
