[edit]I believe that a little research would show that "Roy 'Hog' Roberts" is not the first seemingly innocent person executed in the united states. Certainly, some states that have failed to provide blood and tissue samples kept over from trial of convicted murderers after the convicted has been executed certainly seems to indicate that they are fearful of the results.
That's kind of silly, there are myriad other reasons for a state to not oblige requests for blood and tissue samples, and even if there were not, a state's reluctance would hardly constitute proof of an innocent man being executed. Shadowsill (talk) 10:47, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
Article issues including notability
[edit]- This unsourced article has been hanging around since 2005 with two dead links and one general source. The notability of the subject is certainly questioned.
- If we want to cover a murderer, presented as a wrongly convicted innocent man, then this needs to be referenced not "thrown out there" as a biased article in an attempt to "prove" the death penalty is wrong.
- There is content "A 2005 investigation was opened to investigate the possibility of Roberts' innocence.", and there is no conclusion to this information so is "half-a-story".
- Note: Personally I feel the putting to death of an innocent person is also paramount to murder. At the same time I am not against the death penalty for egregious crimes against humanity. However, "personal feelings" has nothing to do with inclusion on Wikipedia as evidenced by reliable sources.
- There are two articles listed in the "See also" section, List of people executed in Missouri and Capital punishment in the United States, and one of these might be a better place to contain content on the subject. Otr500 (talk) 08:58, 8 May 2017 (UTC)
More links are immediately available on Google. I've added a bit of that coverage here, but more could be done. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FridayMM (talk • contribs) 17:37, 18 March 2018 (UTC)
