Woodard Schools
[edit]I have removed the reference to Woodard Schools, this is because, the Woodard Schools are not comparable with the Eton, Rugby Groups;
Fistly, the Eton / Rugby / Haileybury groups are loose associations of Seperate Independent Schools unlike the Woodard Schools, many of whom are owned by the foundation.
Secondly, The Eton and Rugby Groups contain at least a significant number of the most well known schools in England, which makes these groups important trend setters in the Independent Sector, however, many of the Woodard schools are in the state sector.
Thirdly, The Eton / Rugby / Haileybury Groups have been cited in the press as the elite groups of schools.

Schools in the Rugby Group
[edit]This group is hard to find references for. There are apparently 18 schools in the group. The main reference for the existence of this group, apart from the two newspaper articles in this article, is the OFT enquiry into "exchange of information on future fees" [1]. It says there are 18 schools (as part of a "Rugby Group survey") but does not list them in the report. I am removing the following schools from the list, because I can't find references for them belonging to the group:
I initially put them in the list based on an unsourced contribution to Wikipedia, hoping that references would be forthcoming. Even if they were included in this list, there is still one missing to make the 18. References please.. -- zzuuzz(talk) 00:14, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
Further recent unsourced additions are:
That makes 19 schools out of 18, and still no sources for those listed above. Note, Wikipedia pages are not valid sources. -- zzuuzz (talk) 13:06, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
Prestigiousness
[edit]I have removed the "most prestigious schools claim" as hard to prove, and as per the talk page on the Eton Group article, statements like this invite arguments.

Oundle
[edit]The current reference for Oundle School (the OFT report) doesn't support their inclusion in the Rugby Group of schools. The report says on p266,
"The Bursar tabled a schedule of fees applicable across the Rugby Group of schools and Governors discussed the level of fees for 2001/02 ... Following discussion it was agreed that the main boarding fee should be increased...
the OFT considers that fee surveys included amongst the papers provided by Oundle School ... are copies or versions of the Sevenoaks Survey as reformatted by the bursar of Oundle School...
Another document in the bundle of related papers ... is a list of 18 schools headed 'Rugby Group Statistics 2001/02' .."
That's all it says really. There is no mention of Oundle's inclusion in the Rugby Group statistics. -- zzuuzz (talk) 11:32, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
