RX Bandits name

[edit]

Note: On the website they refer to themselves as the RX Bandits, not the Rx Bandits. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.39.60.237 (talk) 04:27, 10 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

it looks like you're right - how do we change the page name? Nasnema  Chat  22:32, 22 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Who keeps changing it back? It's very clear that it's 'RX' and NOT 'Rx'. It's all over all of their websites!! RdCrestdBreegull (talk) 23:44, 24 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thought I'd just mention that they are/were (I know very little about what the website calls them) the Rx Bandits in reference to their original name the Pharmaceutical Bandits, as an Rx number is a prescription number, as in something you take to the pharmacy to pick up your prescription drugs. In my opinion it should stay as Rx Bandits due to 'RX' not being a thing in the pharmaceutical world and thus not making it in the original context of the name. Those Damn Bandits

[edit]

Is it proper to include how much their first album, Those Damn Bandits has sold for on eBay? There's no easy way to verify the info but I've seen a disc go for and I've heard they can go higher. ---little_tinyfish

A used Those Damn Bandits went for on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330027748857 ---little_tinyfish

I recently added the Those Damn Bandits article, and noted there that the album once sold for which happened a few years ago. I don't think it's necessary that it's on this page, but it's possible. Shuckiduck 07:34, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

iTunes

[edit]

iTunes lists their newest album as And the Battle Begins. Should this be noted?

I don't think it's necessary - if you search for ...And the Battle Begun the album will still come up on an iTunes search; plus, it's an error - hopefully it will be fixed. If anything, maybe put "Upon the album's release, iTunes inadverently listed the album as And the Battle Began - and hopefully we'll be able to say it was fixed on whatever date. Drive Thru

[edit]

Was this removed for any good reason?

" In 2006 the band and the label parted ways after which their latest album was released. Of the original line-up, only singer/songwriter Matt Embree and drummer Chris Tsagakis remain." Little tinyfish 05:21, 30 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

5 Piece Band?

[edit]

Then someone needs to change the picture. I see 6 faces, not five. (-Kid. 12:39, 22 May 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Unencyclopedic style

[edit]

"Though they fall somewhat short of being a full fledged "jam band", it is fair to say that they exhibit musicianship live that is not captured by their recordings." Am I the only one who reads this and thinks it came from anything but an encyclopedia?

It seems it's written more as a freelance biography that prefaces a long interview.EunuchOmerta 05:20, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. This needs a re-write or removal, and definitely needs references. Little tinyfish 03:02, 28 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
i definitely vote against a removal; it gives a great deal of knowledge of the band's history. i do agree that more information (particularly a beginning summary) should be added, but i'd frown upon removing of information unless it is replaced by equally informative (and hopefully referenced) content... Shuckiduck 08:37, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It isn't just whether or not it is informative, it also matters if it is slanted and unencyclopedic. I would almost say that changing to article to a stub is preferable to the current version. Its not doing the band any favors to keep it as it is. if that is what your thinking. When someone comes across this article and reads it they aren't going to take it seriously enough to go buy one of their CDs.- Moshe Constantine Hassan Al-Silverburg | Talk 14:43, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rich Balling in TSOAF

[edit]

Is the new information on Rich Balling in The Sounds of Animals Fighting accurate? It says he was the former lead singer, but earlier lists him as the former Trombone player. Is this info even relevant? Little tinyfish 03:00, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adding "Cleanup" template

[edit]

I have added a cleanup template to the article. I believe that most objective readers will agree that the article's current wording and indeed the overall style sounds somewhat akin to an advertisement of some sort or at least a VH1 "behind the music" special or whatever they are called. Anyways, I think that a rewrite would be appropriate. I would do it myself except I don't really know enough about the subject to do that great of a job, or really even a poor job.- Moshe Constantine Hassan Al-Silverburg | Talk 14:37, 1 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Genre

[edit]

The genre needs an update, I haven't heard the Rx Bandits play any form of punk since Those Damn Bandits, and I haven't heard them play any type of ska since Progress, they have two more albums after this, and are writing a third which have virtually no ska or punk, I'd say the genre should be switched to progressive rock or even progressive reggae to keep that same sort of theme going, but in all seriousness this band should not be considered a punk-ska band anymore. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Airportmanteauxnails (talkcontribs) 21:28, 23 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Chris Sheets

[edit]

The former members section indicates that Sheets was on all of their albums. I thought he joined for The Resignation after Rich Balling left. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.225.165.234 (talk) 03:23, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

THEY ARE STILL A BAND!

[edit]

Rx Bandits are currently still a band and touring as of July 2011. They still have dates throughout the summer...AND AS THIS PAGE SAYS (including a cited, reliable source) GUITARIST STEVE CHOI SAID THAT THEY AREN'T BREAKING UP...it was just a misunderstanding...they aren't doing summer tours anymore. THEY ARE STILL A BAND (AND ARE CURRENTLY IN THE MIDDLE OF A TOUR), STOP SAYING THAT THEY'VE ALREADY BROKEN UP!--Preservedmoose (talk) 03:44, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I was going to post this same thing and no one has fixed it yet almost a year later. --NBMATT (talk) 20:27, 18 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
