Type 81 engine
[edit]The article, following Parmentier, says the 81 had a Lorraine 9N but this contemporary source has it powered by a G-R Titan Major 7-cylinder radial (col 2, lower). There might be more info in other reports from the 1932 Salon.TSRL (talk) 19:26, 8 August 2016 (UTC) This article, again from 1932, says Lorraine but the photo seems to show a 7-cylinder engine and the three view certainly does.TSRL (talk) 20:22, 8 August 2016 (UTC) Flight, at the same Dec show reports that the single-engined SPCA had the Titan Major. Probably should note the clash.TSRL (talk) 20:44, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
- The photo in the second French article is captioned Type 81 but has the serial of the Type 80, F-AKFH; hence the engine. The Type 81 was 'FI ; a photo of the aircraft at the Salon (Air-Britain Archive Sept 2012, p. 2012/136) shows it was the 80 rather than the 81 reported by the two French mags (Flight doesn't give a type number). Be good to see a photo of 'FI to confirm the Lorraine.TSRL (talk) 21:09, 8 August 2016 (UTC)
