Machinery section is incorrect.
[edit]Only the first two ships, Sacramento and Camden, each received half of the powerplant of USS Kentucky. The other 2 ships received no machinery from the Illinois. Someone verify this, please. Traumatic (talk) 04:17, 28 May 2012 (UTC)
I concur, all the editions of Ships and Aircraft of the US Fleet by Polmar and Combat Fleets only discuss the plant from Kentucky going in the first 2 ships. Brooksindy (talk) 13:53, 14 March 2017 (UTC)
IN further verification of the above, Illinois was supposed to receive Westinghouse machinery. Combat Fleets various editions all state that all four ships had GE machinery.Brooksindy (talk) 00:05, 21 September 2017 (UTC)
Speed discrepancy
[edit]This article states that the ships have 100,000shp engines, speed 26kts. Three of the individual articles state 100,000shp, 30kts, while the fourth says 100,000shp, 35kts. Obviously something is amiss here. Even if for some reason one ship was faster than the other three with the same installed power, this article doesn't match any of the four others.
