Is this light functioning
[edit]The sources seem to be somewhat in conflict. Wobser says it was relit in 1989. I know the standard is verifiablility (sources) not truth. But I want to get this right. Anybody know? 7&6=thirteen (talk) 16:24, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
Name change needed
[edit]This article needs a name change to Sand Point (Escanaba), I think. Or Escanaba/Sand Point (Little Bay de Noc) Light. as the ARLHS calls it. There is another Sand Point Light in Michigan at Baraga, which article does not yet exist. See Lighthouse Digest. Note the template is wrong, and the List of Michigan lighthouses (US lights) links to the wrong article. 7&6=thirteen (talk) 17:41, 27 November 2008 (UTC) Stan
- I've added this light to the Sand Point dab page..if it does change names or the other article gets created then the dab page will need updated.

- For some reason the NHRP list has this as the "Sand Lighthouse", which I haven't seen anywhere else. The state of Michigan's historic sign next to the lighthouse (I have a photo I can upload) uses Sand Point Lighthouse, which seems to be the most common version. We can always include variants in the first sentence. My concern was just making sure everything is linked together. The previous version had "Light", which wasn't used by either listing. In either case, I think using just "Sand Point" would be incomplete. --Bobak (talk) 17:25, 15 July 2009 (UTC)
- The Coast Guard, Terry Pepper, Michigan Lighthouse Conservancy, Lighthouse Depot, Lighthouse Digest, and ARLHS (link is at Lighthouse Digest) are not uniform. If you click on the external links you can find this. It should either be "Sand Point Light" or "Sand Point Lighthouse". I don't have a position between the two, but agree that "Sand Point" alone isn't quite right. 7&6=thirteen (talk) 18:24, 15 July 2009 (UTC) Stan
- I went ahead and placed it at "Sand Point Light", as per longstanding tradition, "Lighthouse" is incorrect. It can be moved to a better place once a name is decided on for the other page. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 19:22, 19 May 2010 (UTC)
