Please note that it is unclear where this image was taken. The file name suggests it was taken over Schweinfurt, but [1] says the picture was believed to have been taken over Merseburg. Merseburg is located much more to the east (and much more to the north) than Schweinfurt, so if that's true, it wasn't on their way to Schweinfurt. Maybe on the way to Dresden?. Name

[edit]

The article states that the name means Swine-fort. I don't believe this is correct. German "furt", I believe means crossing (or ford). So Schweinfurt means swine-crossing, not swine-fort. Chrevbel (talk) 19:43, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Information about university education and crime rate

[edit]

This information is just wrong: "Only 3.1% of employees have a university education, significantly less than the German average of 7.5%. Schweinfurt has about half the average German crime rate (making it the 14th safest in the county)".

There is a difference between the town Schweinfurt and the district. The district has a low crime rate and a rate of university education below average (as mentioned in the article). The town has a high crime rate and 8.4% of employees with a university education (http://www.insm-regionalranking.de/pdf/Kreisfreie%20Stadt_Schweinfurt.pdf). Grammar issues

[edit]

The history section, at least, has numerous grammar issues. It seems like this is a translation. I would edit it, but my grammar is not perfect and I don't want to be beat down by the Wikipedia overlords 2601:500:8683:1090:61BE:395E:3AAD:A226 (talk) 01:21, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
