@Buidhe: New enough, long enough, QPQ done, copyvio 26.5%, interesting hooks, but here are my concerns:
  • Ref 15 should cite The Times of Israel instead of www.timesofisrael.com.
  • ALT1 has WP:NPOV issues. For the article to be neutral, you should also explain why Pence made these accusations instead of just a one-sentence quote.
  • I'd go with ALT0, but it needs some work. I'd propose it as ALT0a: ... that Israeli prime minister Menachem Begin claimed that he had prevented another Holocaust by bombing an Iraqi nuclear reactor? I'd also suggest adding a picture of Begin to the article and this proposal.
  • Not related to DYK, but the photo of Bridget Loves Bernie doesn't belong in the article because it isn't mentioned in the prose and doesn't enhance the reader's understanding.
Let me know with a ping when you've addressed these concerns. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Thanks ) 19:20, 30 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  1. Wikipedia:Did you know/Citation says nothing about such minor details in citations.
  2. Fine, that's why I provided 3 hooks.
  3. Why did you strike ALT0? WP:DYKHOOK does not require links other than the one to the featured article. 3 links in one hooks is too many imo.
  • I appreciate constructive suggestions, but please keep them separate from comments that are related to the DYK criteria and eligibility of the article and hook. buidhe 21:04, 30 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Buidhe: The point was that you did not introduce who Menachem Begin was, so that hook has no context. Again, neutrality issues still haven't been addressed; that pertains to the article, not just the hooks. Also, I perceived the incorrect citation as bordering a bare URL, my mistake. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Thanks ) 21:25, 30 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I fail to see how the absense of context could be a WP:NPOV issue, which "means representing fairly, proportionately, and, as far as possible, without editorial bias, all the significant views that have been published by reliable sources on a topic." Nevertheless, I've added some. I also do not see how what Begin looks like would be remotely relevant to the article or the hook. I wouldn't object to ALT0a with minor modifications: ALT0b: "... that Israeli prime minister Menachem Begin said that he had prevented another Holocaust by bombing an Iraqi nuclear reactor?" but I also do not see anything wrong with the original hook. buidhe 21:37, 30 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Buidhe: Because Pence claiming that Iran wants "Another Holocaust" is a clearly loaded statement that definitely required context. Why are you so opposed to wikilinks to Begin and Operation Opera? Read MOS:LINK, it makes it easier for readers to find information which is what we want to do. The photo of Begin would be because he is the subject of the quote, as is typical for DYK. It would also make your DYK eligible for a top spot, but it's okay to not want that. Also... you say you appreciate the constructive criticism but have kept the irrelevant photo in the article and you haven't fixed the one incorrect citation. Hamas' Final Solution

[edit]

It seems Hamas is trying to begin the second Holocaust, and it's certainly the biggest threat to the Jewish people since World War II, so maybe both pages should link each other. And there's also tensions in other nations right now, given the pro-Palestinian protest in New York City included neo-Nazis. 2001:8003:AD13:F800:2791:E749:3543:BC9F (talk) 09:05, 9 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Who says that hamas (cca. 1.500 fighters armed with bunch of home-made rockets and small arms, enclosed in an open-air conc-lager without any semblance of infrastructure and organization on any kind or level, not even on level of poorest of the poor states) can pose an existential threat that would lead to "second holocaust" or genocide of a nation with a high tech military and security state aparatus and a nuclear super-power with unconditional support in Europe, UK and US ?! This article as it is is already too much for English Wikipedia to continue claim its adherence to WP:NPOV and Wikipedia:Notability. ౪ Santa ౪99° 11:32, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
"Europe, UK" Redundant listing, since the UK is part of Europe. Dimadick (talk) 21:32, 20 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

are you out of your mind because they clearly don't have capability to do so, because you know their weaponry are pretty limited. Rifa10z (talk) 10:51, 6 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
