Graphical Migration?
[edit]I understand what the author is trying to say in this section, and the diagram is very good, but I'm not sure that this is actually a form of migration. It's just a way of determining the origin of a reflection at zero offset and if this method was used on a dipping reflector, migration would then be needed. A google for "graphical migration" only returns 703 results, as opposed to 784,000 and 234,000 for time and depth migration respectively. Nwhit (talk) 10:56, 8 February 2012 (UTC)
Why not "Seismic migration"?
[edit]Is there any other geophysical method that uses migration? If not, this article should probably be moved to Seismic migration for clarity. Hamsterlopithecus (talk) 08:56, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
- I searched a few standard books on applied geophysics and found no reference to migration of any other kind of data. So I moved the article. RockMagnetist (talk) 22:57, 12 February 2012 (UTC)
