Improve by listing modern alternatives

It would probably be useful to list modern alternatives (poll(2) is listed but, epoll, dev/poll, kqueue). Possibly even popular portable libraries such as libevent. 66.11.179.30 (talk) 06:31, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
