Fair use rationale for Image:Shasta and the cat.JPG

[edit]

Image:Shasta and the cat.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Move to Cor?

[edit]

I think this page should be moved to Cor (Narnia), as this is his correct name. Darth Newdar (talk) 15:01, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You can speak - talk to me! Darth Newdar (talk) 14:29, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As nobody has bothered to reply to me I shall move the page tomorrow if still nobody has replyed to me. Darth Newdar (talk) 16:24, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have now decided not to move the page, because it would be a pain to move back if somebody does not like it! But, please, sombody, talk to ME! What do other people think. Darth Newdar (talk) 15:22, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
As there does not seem to be much active editing happening on this page right now, it's rather unsurprising that you would get no response... In any event, in my opinion, the fact that Shasta is Cor is one of the surprises of the book, and moving the page would reveal the surprise prematurely. Granted, we haven't put a spoiler warning on that revelation now, but we do not reveal it until an appropriate place in the summary. Chazz (talk) 06:28, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I think that it should be moved to Cor, since that is his actual name and not his false Calormene one. How can I move it myself if everyone agrees? Ari (talk) 05:23, 20 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

First, this is an old discussion (look at the dates). Since nothing happened as a result, the conclusion was to leave the article where it is. Second, that's the correct decision: we generally put the article under the most commonly-used name, which in this case is "Shasta", not "Cor". Lewis uses "Shasta" throughout the book until the very end, and that is how this character is generally known. Similarly, in this article the character should be called "Shasta" until the point in the plot when his true identity becomes known -- otherwise you are not reporting the synopsis correctly. Likewise, Corin is not "Corin Thunderfist" until after the events of the book; the name warrants a passing mention, but should not be used generally. -- Elphion (talk) 15:28, 20 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
