Mayors Lists are hard work, Wikipedia may be the only place some of this stuff ends up. I'll be in Brissy in a couple of weeks and will try to cruise up to Pine Rivers for a look-see.

My interest is that a previous Shire Chairman was an uncle of my wife.

Pine Rivers Shire Council → Pine Rivers Shire, Queensland — The page was recently moved the other way, as I believe a misapplication of a guideline that all Australian LGAs should go at their official name. Some LGAs in NSW, for example Manly Council, have the word "Council" in them, but that is not the case in Queensland; the LGA is a Shire, and "Council" is used to refer to the governing body only. Closure comment

As a closing admin, I share the sentiment and arguments of the proposal. However, all pages in Category:Local Government Areas of Queensland are at "Foo Shire Council" so IMO they should be all renamed to Foo Shire, Queensland. Thus, a broader incentive is called for. (See WP:RM#Multiple page moves).

Incidentally, similar error was present for long time in my home country, and cleared up only recently: the bureaucratic phrase "skupština opštine" (municipal assembly) got so widespread that ugly phrases like "Territory of Municipal Assembly" became ubiquitous instead of plain vanilla "municipality". Boundary changes in 1897, 1921 and 1955

In 1897, parts of the Parishes of Samsonvale, Pine and Whiteside were included in the Pine Division. Does anyone know which LGA they were in before? Kerry (talk) 09:13, 20 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It [the shire] underwent significant changes in 1921 and 1955, and on 23 May 1959, the Shire of Pine was renamed Shire of Pine Rivers.[3] It then remained with the same name and boundaries for almost 50 years.
