Perhaps you could a little research and add to it. You could even drive there and take a photograph (I dont have a car) Chevin (talk) 16:23, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
Scope
[edit]Why so little talk? I've got concerns about scope (though not at all about quality or accuracy). I mean, is it policy that articles about passenger stations restrict themselves to just that? I.e, for a place like Langwith Junction, would there need to be separate articles about the signalling, the history of the junction topology, the civil engineering, the staff social club? My vote would be that an article should cover everything about a particular "node", i.e. interface between block sections.
Also, how much of this should be in the LD&ECR article as opposed to here?
Congratulations to all concerned on what has been written so far. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.197.55.229 (talk) 02:19, 1 December 2012 (UTC)
- There are no firm boundaries. Generally, if the item of information is specific to a station, it goes on the relevant station article; if it's about the line in general, it goes on the line article. Whatever is added though, the policies on original research and verifiability should still be followed.
- Train services, being of a general nature, would generally go on the article about the line, although if one station had an abnormal service compared to the others on the line, we would show the differences on the station article. Regardless of that, the station article would show which stations are adjacent. This being a junction station, we should mention connection arrangements (if any), such as whether the trains to/from Sheffield were timed to meet those to/from Chesterfield, or if a train from Lincoln might be split here with one portion going on to Chesterfield, the other to Sheffield. I don't know if this actually happened: it's just a suggestion for what information to include.
- Junctions and locomotive depots are normally dealt with on the article for the nearest station, but if important enough, they may warrant their own article. I would suggest putting the information into this article to begin with; and if sufficient is added that is specific to either the junction or to the loco depot, we might consider a WP:SPLIT later on. --Redrose64 (talk) 13:16, 1 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks. I think we're in agreement. Particularly the summer weekend services and excursions, for which this station seems to be a major hub on the LNER. --Waffent (talk) 14:56, 1 December 2012 (UTC)
Booth citations
[edit]Most of the Booth 2013 short footnotes need modification to point at either Booth 2013a or 2013b to fix the citation anchors, could someone with access to the books referenced please modify them. Nempnet (talk) 13:29, 11 May 2020 (UTC)
