Stupid Question
[edit]Stupid question probably because I haven't seen this film and am therefore probably wrong, but I believe in the novel the protagonist at one point says that he was from New York to a Sicilian man that he meets; however he clarifies that in fact he has never been to New York, and although he's clearly spent the last 15 years outside of Sicily, simply goes along with the New York thing because it's easy to explain or for unexplained reasons. Of course it's quite possible the film doesn't follow the novel in this respect, but someone who has seen this film might want to double-check whether the young man in question actually is coming from New York or whether that's just suggested. Year
[edit]This is a 1999 movie. 212.154.17.171 (talk) 13:13, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
- Do you have a supporting reliable source for 1999? The British Film Institute source uses 1998. Imdb is not reliable. Commander Keane (talk) 02:03, 31 October 2024 (UTC)
- I don't think it is a matter of reliable sources. Both the English and the French Wikipedia say the film was made in 1998 and released in 1999. If what matters is the release date, it is a 1999 film. 176.89.109.235 (talk) 14:48, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- I have made the change, based on the New Yorker reference. The BFI must be a misnomer or referring to the production date, as you say. Thanks for sticking with it. Commander Keane (talk) 17:00, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
