Ambiguity
[edit]The infobox says the siege was a Catholic victory, but it is not immediately clear who that means. Either that should be reworded or the religions of the belligerents should be mentioned in the infobox. Oreo Priest talk 15:39, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

Gebhard Truchsess
[edit]In this article "Gebhard, Truchsess of Waldburg" is linked to "Gebhard Truchsess von Waldburg". In the latter, "Truchsess" ("Lord High Steward" in one of my dictionaries) appears not as a title but as a part of his surname. It thus resembles the transition from "Steward" to "Stewart": see Stewart (name). I hesitate to change this unilaterally, but suggest consideration. Wikiain (talk) 00:52, 18 November 2014 (UTC)
Proper coordinates
[edit]The offered coordinates are incorrect. I found the castle at N 50.68510 E 7.15076
Unnecessary info?
[edit]The section on long-term consequences (and maybe some of the background, too) seems unnecessary given that it's about the war in general, rather than the specific siege. Brutannica (talk) 04:21, 19 November 2014 (UTC)
The name Godesberg
[edit]I removed three "translations" of the name "Godesberg / Godesburg". While the etymology is possibly correct, this is something that may well be mentioned in the article about the town, here, however, it is unnecessary and somewhat bizarre, to say the least. For one, the fact that "Godes" may be derived from "Wodes/Wotan" is not common knowledge, nor is the word understood in such a way at all, and doing this comes across like adding the "translation" "Wodan's day" after every mention of the word "Wednesday". By the way, the "translation is even more bizarre when added to "Bad Godesberg" (as Wotan's Mountain Spa). The spa part of the name was only added in the 1920's, and translating this is like "translating" Birmingham as "village of the clan of Beorma" and Birmingham Airport as "Airport of the clan of Beorma".
