2006 Results

[edit]

This article contradicts itself on the 2006 results. At the top it says no winners were declared, while at the bottom it says winners were declared... Anyone know the actual results? Privong 18:49, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I found a website substantiating the statement that no winnners were declared and have updated the article and referenced the page. Privong 21:54, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That website isn't a reliable source, however - as much as I think it's good to read, there is no editorial oversight, and the sources aren't named. As it is, I can't find *anything* reliable. The Ghent 6-Day website and the UIV website just don't mention a result - just that racing stopped and it cannot be substantiated that the leaders at the time are not the official winners. I'm going to keep on looking until I find something one way or the other... Mk3severo 22:14, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, sounds good. The article you changed for the reference is about a different race though. It appears to be for the Rotterdam 6 day race instead of the Ghent race. This article [1] mentions the race was ended, but doesn't give any indications as to the outcome. Privong 14:37, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes it is for the Rotterdam, but the quote refers to Ghent (for the man who had been deprived of glory after the horrific death of Galvez in Gent). The problem is with the bare fact of who "won" the Ghent is, understandably, all news was focussed towards Isaac Gálvez rather than who won - nobody cared who won. I was thinking of expanding this as a note to say that neither the UIV or Ghent websites mention (or especially declare) a winner. Mk3severo 15:04, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I see. Sounds good to me. Privong 15:54, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
