NB: According to the Russian version of this page, sluggishly progressing schizophrenia is still both recognized by and diagnosed in Russian psychiatry to this day (although not for political reasons). It would be nice if somebody added info. on this (while I'm bilingual, I'm not familiar with psychopathology to any real extent, and wouldn't want to translate for Wikipedia any kind of material that I don't find myself to be adept with.) 166.217.79.39 (talk) 02:24, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Reading the referenced abstracts below, which are in English, the descriptions of the disorder are way too vague, with a varying symptom picture, to be able to write an article about it according to wikipedia standards. Mattisse 02:38, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone know what the four that were recognized were? I think they should be included in this article (not thoroughly, but just listed.)--Maskedpantsman 30 June 2005 14:43 (UTC)

  • For a long while, the categories were Catatonic, Hebephrenic, Paranoid, and Simple. Nowadays schizophrenics are sorted into five types: Catatonic, disorganised, paranoid, residual, and undifferentiated. GeeJo 23:58, 27 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Where can I find a copy of the diagnostic criteria? I'd like to see it.

it's all in the DSM IV

A better explanation should be given of "not suffering from mental function impairment and having interests beyond survival needs", or this should be revised. The phrasing is seems inappropriate. --Daniel C. Boyer 22:59, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
