Time?

[edit]

can anyone please tell me what time does Solar Eclipse (Jan 15th 2010) occurs in Dubai, UAE?

This animation might give an approximation, but you have to convert UTC to your local time: www.shadowandsubstance.com SockPuppetForTomruen (talk) 19:28, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Here's a list by NASA of local times for a number of locations. [1] SockPuppetForTomruen (talk) 19:35, 2 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Future Event or Past event

[edit]

This article uses the past tense much of the time for an event that has yet to occur. There is even a photograph that must be of a past eclipse.Dedwarmo (talk) 13:10, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Over by far. (3 hours) Check your time zone. The photograph is of the right one. Sagittarian Milky Way (talk) 13:16, 15 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

eye safety

[edit]

when you look at a solar eclipse dont look at the solar eclipse directly if you do you will have seirous eye damage. So you have to have these special glasses to look at the solar ecclipse

Sunspot 1040

[edit]

Would be nice if the coincidence with Sunspot 1040 could be documented here. FourBlades (talk) 03:22, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely! I found one image: SockPuppetForTomruen (talk) 05:01, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Eclipse? what eclipse?

[edit]

I never saw anything. It never happend in Britain. Or am I just being even more dopey than usual? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Don't look back in anger (talkcontribs) 14:48, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It happened before sunrise in Britain. Sagittarian Milky Way (talk) 17:33, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Saros 141

[edit]

There are a couple of mistakes in the section on Related eclipses - Saros 141. It starts 'It is'-- what is 'it'? I'd change 'it' to 'the eclipse' but when I go to the edit page there is no paragraph only text inside {brackets}... Also there should be an 's' at the end of one of the words, I don't remember which. Could somebody fix this/tell me how to fix this? Thanks. Leonini (talk) 15:25, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A vandal or mistake might've messed something up. If so, it'd be in the edit history. Sagittarian Milky Way (talk) 17:24, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Any images of the ground?

[edit]

That would be every bit as interesting as those of the sun. 67.243.1.21 (talk) 23:39, 16 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"related eclipses"

[edit]

I'm not any kind of space expert, so no doubt I'm completely wrong and being very ignorant here, but are there really such things as "related eclipses"? I mean aren't all eclipses on earth sort of related? Hey that's the same moon as last time! Coolug (talk) 13:40, 17 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Eclipse are related by periodic eclipse cycles. SockPuppetForTomruen (talk) 23:57, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
