What?
Since when could Goten become the strongest Saiyan?--suit-n-tie 05:03, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
what are you talking about?Big foot123456789 4:00, 30 August 2006
Read the paragraph thoroughly and carefully - It says that Goten was able to keep up with Trunks even though Trunks trained in the Gravity Chamber while Goten was training in the woods. The Capsule Corp Gravity Chamber is a formidible place to train, but the woods isn't. Even though the woods is incomparible to the gravity chamber, Goten was (and most probably is) still able to keep up with Trunks, who is one year older than him. So one can speculate that if Goten trained in the Gravity Chamber, he could've surpassed Trunks by a longshot. 65.8.35.224 22:01, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
Well he is gokus son!:)good job figuring that out! Big foot123456789 5:15, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
Do you think we could put the "one can speculate" part in the article? 65.8.124.138 18:40, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is not a crystal ball, which means No original research or speculation. -- bulletproof 3:16 18:51, 4 September 2006 (UTC)
Also i think it is a little bold to say that Goten is at the same or stronger level then Android 18, the fight was difficult for 18 as Goten and Trunk where both fighting her, the top half of the body was moving differently to the bottom half and as soon as she worked out the fighting pattern she easily knocked them to the ground, after which goten and trunks swap over and the fighting style completely changes and the same thing happens again. If this was a proper fight and not a comical one then this may have shown through better. If you also study the rescent Dragon Ball Z games on the PS2 you will see that more power is given to Android 18 then Super Sayan Goten. User:Darknessfalls 12:16, 19 August 2006 (GMT)
Games as a source for anime power?.... Wow just wow. In DBZ if you have trouble fighting someone, then they are near your level. Otherwise you completely defeat them Finally Can we get an SSJ Goten pic and a fusion picKotenks 20:19, 21 September 2006 (UTC)
Done. I already put a Super Saiyan Bebi-Goten image on the article just a few days ago. SGFF 00:38, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
- Also, a fusion picture would not be necessary, becuase that would belong under the grasp of Gotenks. SGFF 00:40, 22 September 2006 (UTC)
I wanted one of kid goten though but if it's a hassle then don't do it. Kotenks 02:50, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
Three appearance changes
Actually there was four. In the second episode of Gt he wore a green shirt with purple pants. Afterwards he started wearing a white shirt with purple pants.-SSJ Gokan 01:37, 27 September 2006 (UTC)
- I think we should add a picture of him from the Buu saga, they only show a picture with him in debatable Canon eras. (e.g: BioBroly, DBGT, ect.)
Someone keeps adding the line "although he whines if he doesn't get his way" or some crap like that along with other statements that violate a few policies. Please, keep a Neutral Point Of View (NPOV) when editing, and try to resist the temptation of adding Non Notable (NN) items to articles. Such examples of a NN item is: "Goten likes Fruit by the Foot" and an example of a NPOV violation is: "Goten is a loser." SGFF 02:13, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- Majinvegeta, your request has been fullfilled. I have added a Dragon Ball Z Goten image on the article. SGFF 02:26, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- I added that line ONCE, and I think it is improtant because I think we should try to distinguish him between Goku, Him and Goku are very similar in personality, except Goku doesn't whine, whether or not it is NPOV, it is the truth (Where do you think Gotenks gets his whiney attitude?). I can name numerous examples of times that Goten has acted like. If we can take that out, I guess I could go through and take a lot more stuff out too like mostly girls liking Goten's Character, or even the OPINION about him actually having more potential then Trunks. That is NN and pure opinion that has nothing to do with actual facts.
PS: That's great you decided to put that image in. [User:Majinvegeta|Majinvegeta]]
Dragon Ball movies
Alright, I have expanded on the above mentioned section to satisfy part of Dispute #9 on the Peer Review. What do you guys think? SGFF 01:56, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Opinions, non-canonical facts, etc.
I was reading through this article and it is riddled with opinions and non-canonical facts. The "Fact" that Goten has more potential then Trunks has no fact basis at all. Goten being a cute character especially for girls has NO fact basis either. And the reason why Goten supossedly beat Buu and fought Pan in the tournament was because he didn't beat Buu. Goku and Uub left without finishing their match, so the tournament was cancelled due to them not being able to set up the preceeding matches. I think it's time we stop going by the Anime (Which has NUMEROUS plotholes) and start referencing mangas, Toriyama interviews, and even the official Dragonball guide books (the Daizenshuus).
- The part about Goten having more potential than Trunks is not mentioned in the article - what IS mentioned is how it was EASY for Goten to keep up with Trunks. The gravity chamber will make many characters formidible challenges, while the forest will not. It's also common sense that Goten could keep up with Trunks. SGFF 02:43, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
Expansion on Video games
On the Peer Review, ReyBrujo wants us to expand the Video games section of this article - the problem is how in the world are we going to expand it? Goten, like many characters in all those Video games is a playable character - so how are we going to phrase that into a paragraph under the Video games section? I think it is impossible. So what i'm planning to do is leave that section alone and cross out Dispute #9 on the Peer Review completely. If anyone has any (or all) of the games in that section, please expand the section, describing Goten's participation. Thanks SGFF 21:05, 29 September 2006 (UTC)
I moved that stuff about kamekameha
I moved that to a seperate section called techniques.--Suit-n-tieWhat Have I Done?! 21:32, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
- Since Goten and Trunks continuously use the Fusion Dance in the Buu Saga, do you think we should add the Fusion technique to the list of their abilities/techniques? I do. I'll go ahead and add that. SGFF(Would you like milk with your coffee?) 23:16, 1 October 2006 (UTC)!
Teenage picture
Nice pic, but I think we should use one that has him and teen Trunks instead...their friendship is the basis of most of the article. Thanos6 01:42, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- But the subject of this article is Goten. It would be oblivious and unnecessary to throw in Trunks into this article. SGFF(@) 02:42, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- But that picture you threw in has Goku...given the choice between Goku or Trunks, I think the latter would be more appropriate. Thanos6 02:57, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- That doesn't make sense, Goku is his father. Trunks is his friend, see the difference?--Atomic-Super-SuitWhat Have I Done?! 05:14, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- Yes, that Goten is much closer to, and has a far deeper relationship with, Trunks than Goku (hell, I think they become lovers, but even without that, they have a basically titanium strength bond). Thanos6 05:36, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- That doesn't matter, as this article is about Goten, not Goten and Trunks. --Atomic-Super-SuitWhat Have I Done?! 22:12, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- Nor is it about Goten and Goku. Thanos6 23:59, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

- People! Are we arguing over a single image on this article?! We should just leave the image be - there are not much images of both Goten and Trunks (as teenagers) out on the internet (and if there are, they would probably be junk or fanart), so we should just let the original and current image stay on the article permanently. We should not create a new dispute and add it to the list of dozens of disputes already in effect. Plus, Goten and Goku have had father-son bonding during the time when Goten was seven until the time he was seventeen - which is ten years to establish a special and powerful bond between the two of them. That image clearly shows father-son bonding while training. Trunks images can be placed on the Trunks (Dragon Ball) article. SGFF(@) 02:08, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

the referances
That section should be worked on, as it doesn't specify where the info came from.--Atomic-Super-SuitWhat Have I Done?! 02:08, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- I got rid of it. I bet you're thinking, "huh?", or "wtf?". It was because that section wasn't done correctly. You have to say which websites or books gave you the info, etc... If someone wishes to do it correctly, go on, as I don't know where it all came from.--Atomic-Super-SuitWhat Have I Done?! 04:43, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
Goten vs. Goku
"However, whereas Goku was a foul-mouthed, short tempered and mischievous rascal as a child, Goten's personality in direct contrast is sweet, considerate, well-mannered, polite and respectful, no doubt as a result of Chichi's strict upbringing."
Eh? Goku was foul-mouthed? Was this only in the manga, or am I just forgetting Dragonball? I agree that Goten was "sweeter" than Goku was as a child, but is this going a bit far? Paul Haymon 22:08, 28 March 2007 (UTC)
- I don't know Paul, but I agree that was more of an opinion base, so I deleted it, along with a bunch of other opinionated stuff. I don't particularly like the wording in this article, it seems to express opinion rather then stating actual facts. And just so you are aware, not every little change that you want to make has to be discussed, if you truly feel that something has to be reworded or deleted/added, feel free to do so without notifying anyone else. If someone doesn't like it, then they can revert it, but you in particular seem to have a clear view on what changes need to happen anyway, so all I'm saying don't hesitate to change it if you don't like it. ;) --Majinvegeta 20:33, 17 April 2007 (UTC)
Goten's name pun
What's the name pun of Goten? Like how Vegeta is a pun on vegetable.
There isnt a pun on Goten's name. Ten = Heaven
--Martian God of War 01:56, 1 October 2007 (UTC)
Goten's origin?
Goten was created in the series to replace Goku as the creator wanted to retire Goku from the series, however, Toriyama was forced to bring Goku back when the fans disapproved of the decision to replace the main character with an identical version of him (Son Goten).
This sounds more like speculation. If this is true, then we need a source! --Vic729 03:55, August 23, 2007 (UTC)
Well actualy he got a point after the cell saga they were gonna make goten was gonna replace goku but fans licked him more so they brought him back and after DBZ into DBGT they made his part smaller and made him weaker —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.82.9.105 (talk) 12:12, August 27, 2007 (UTC)
I am getting very confused over the Super Saiyan 2 thing with Goten and Trunks. Wikipedia is saying that they are able to use the form in GT however, other websites are arguing against the fact that they never reached the forms. But as usual the Animators weren't persistent with the whole electricity with the Aura. I just want to know if they can use the forms and if so when did they achieve it? User:Kazi22 15:50, October 13, 2007
- No, they didn't. Thanos6 22:36, 13 October 2007 (UTC)
I erased the "Super Saiyan 2 Controversy" section and I really think it should stay that way. None of the official guide books say that he is SS2 while they say other characters are; same with Trunks. Any articles mentioning it should be omited on a site such as Wikipedia, which strives to be as legitamite as possible. Thank You. Hero 004
Goten's Ability to go Super Saiyan
In the plot overview section it says that it was previously thought that only full-blood Saiyans could attain Super Saiyan. Given that Gohan is half human and went Super Saiyan years ago, I'd have to believe that that's not at all accurate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Joon01 (talk • contribs) 03:54, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
I took it out. Gohan and the Trunks from the future are both half human and both went Super Saiyan years ago in the story line. Jwkinraleigh (talk) 04:13, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
