The NSW SHR describes it as being in Darlinghurst but the Greek Orthodox church says it is in Surry Hills and Commons has it in Surry Hills. Which one is correct? Kerry (talk) 07:26, 6 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I don't object in principle to moving it to its modern name, but the problem with that title is that it gets quite ambiguous between this church and Saint Sophia's Cathedral, Sydney, as they're located geographically very close together and are sometimes referred to with language that is interchangeable: only the common-but-not-always use of "cathedral" for the other building and the street addresses reliably tell the two apart. I had a lot of trouble when I was trying to put together this article working out which source was referring to which church in places. I think it should be at least at ", Surry Hills" to distinguish it from the Paddington cathedral, and both articles should probably have disambiguation headers. It sounds like the present name is the "common name" so that should be the primary title, but I think we need to make clear with alternate names listed in the lede and with redirects and with hatnotes for disambiguation on this article and any that might be confused with it, that collectively addreses the various names, denomination and suburbs, so that the reader can be sure if this is the the article they seek, and if not, where they should be looking next. We have all those tools at our disposal, let's make the most of them. Kerry (talk) 11:54, 3 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
