"Falsely listed as a victim of the Jasenovac concentration camp"

[edit]

I removed[1] this sentence for the following reasons:

  • This fact is irrelevant for his bio, because there is no evidence the listing caused a relevant real-life issue.
  • He was not actually falsely listed - the correct word may rather be erroneously, as there is no evidence of wilful fabrication. Note the victim was listed as having been born in Visoko, while the subject was born in Zagreb, which may have legitimately been a cause for confusion, and simple clerical errors like these are not worth mentioning (unless, perheps, the point is something else entirely).
  • The source, narod.hr, is rather infamous for its far right/revisionist content, and the article in question is dedicated in its entirety to questioning and "debunking" the Jasenovac victims statistics.
  • The Stanko Nick article is just one in the series of Wikipedia bios about people who have been allegedly "falsely listed" as Jasenovac victims. This falls under WP:TENDENTIOUS and WP:COATRACK.

Wikipedia is not to be used as a platform for advertising historical revisionism. GregorB (talk) 09:30, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, I nearly missed the most important bit: there is reason to believe Nbanic, the author of this article, and Nikola Banić, the author of the above-mentioned narod.hr article and the source for its claims, are the same person. So, it looks like WP:COI too. GregorB (talk) 09:39, 29 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
