Notability
[edit]Unless reliable, significant, independent coverage of the book, distinct from the traveling exhibit, can be referenced, this should be merged to a subsection of Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination, as proposed in July, 2013. The Notability guidelines for books should prevail over any arguments of easier categorization. --Animalparty-- (talk) 22:18, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
It's a notable book as I have a copy of it. It's a big book and goes into great detail about serious topics and discussion about the science and philosophy of the franchise. It's as notable as The Science of Star Wars or any other serious book regarding the franchise. But I agree we should update the article to make it actually feel notable.--Nadirali نادرالی (talk) 17:18, 14 June 2014 (UTC)
- An object's existence does not equal notability, and notability is not a matter of opinion. Per the General notability guidelines, if a topic has not received no reliable, secondary coverage, then it probably should not have an article on Wikipedia. What is needed are sources outside of publisher's blurbs, other promotional text, or the book itself, to demonstrate the topic is actually noteworthy (i.e. has been noted by the world at large). The Science of Star Wars has demonstrated notability due to numerous secondary reviews in reliable, respected publications. If you can find similar references supporting notability for this book, please provide them, otherwise it may just as well be considered a souvenir of the traveling exhibit- which has received independent coverage in mainstream newspapers- and thus no more noteworthy than Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination (t-shirt). --Animalparty-- (talk) 21:14, 19 June 2014 (UTC)
I added some reliable sources. I replaced primary sources, but it could use some improvement I suppose. Btw, I do have a copy of this book and it's quite big and detailed. I think users should go through it to determine it's notability.--Nadirali نادرالی (talk) 19:35, 19 July 2014 (UTC)
