Personal details

[edit]

Birth name was "Marion Stephanie Longfellow" and husband was "Geroge Albert Spear."[1] --evrik (talk) 22:21, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Evrik: I saw that, but IMDb isn't considered a reliable source. SL93 (talk) 22:51, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

5x expanded by SL93 (talk). Self-nominated at 04:01, 26 April 2021 (UTC).[reply]

  • QPQ done. Nice article on notable actress. It was 450 chars and its now 2400 so expand is OK. Lots of refs and no evidence of close paraphrasing or lack of neutrality. Alt1 is my own suggestion so I cannot approve that, unless its considered a rewrite of Alt0. However Alt0 IS a hook and it has a ref, but I cannot read the detail so AGF. The article does say that "Due to her poetry, she received an offer to become an actress" ... but can we offer a bit more detail of how this happened? Victuallers (talk) 09:40, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Victuallers I wish that I could. On that topic, the reference only says that she was called on for acting due to her poetry. I could suggest a different hook if detail is needed. I think that your hook can count as a rewrite because that was what I was trying to get across. SL93 (talk) 13:32, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
OK, (we tried). Tick for ALT0 and (rephrased as) ALT1. Victuallers (talk) 13:50, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@SL93 and Victuallers: If the hook is confusing but the source (and so article) not forthcoming, is there a better hook to propose? The hooks both suggest (but don't say) that Longfellow wanted to make a name for herself outside of her family - the article does say that, and how she lamented that they weren't even closely related, so that could be an option. Alternatively, a little rephrasing, something that mentions Longfellow was a poet like her famous relative, but became known for her acting? Kingsif (talk) 18:53, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Kingsif "Alternatively, a little rephrasing, something that mentions Longfellow was a poet like her famous relative, but became known for her acting?" - I honestly thought that the hooks stated that and one said that the hook is confusing.
ALT2 ... that Stephanie Longfellow, the grand-niece of the poet Henry Wadsworth, was known for her poetry and acting? SL93 (talk) 19:25, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Pinging Victuallers although I feel like we already had what Kingsif suggested. SL93 (talk) 19:30, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@SL93: Not really, it's something you can glean from the hooks but I mean make it the point of the hook - the currents are about her poetry (somehow) leading her to acting:
is more like what I was thinking. The hookiness is the contrast. Kingsif (talk) 20:14, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Kingsif: I guess I will just ask for a different editor to review your hook. I really don't see the issue with the hooks that Victuallers and I suggested though. ALT2 doesn't even state that it was her poetry that led to her acting. SL93 (talk) 20:59, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
