Requested move

[edit]

Request move to Stewartia ovata per discussion on Stewartia talk page. Stewartia is prefered by all taxonomical authorities except for one 1920s Kew source. Species is Chinese and American, Chinese and American botanists and taxonomists use Stewartia. Only a few sources use Stuartia according to an American expert's posting on TAxacom list serve. User:MPF would never allow any non-British user to suggest that a British species be named on their personal conjecture, that a non-British name take precedence, or be listed first, or even the statement of non-British authorities, for any plant native to the UK, so it's a bit much to go through all of this for this Chinese and American species. If things change, the pages can be moved back as necessary in the future. We can't interpret the ICBN and decide how we think species should be named, we have to go by what the leading authorities use. That's all. KP Botany 03:23, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Done the move, to make wikipedia consistent. Your personal comments above are however very unfair and quite untrue. - MPF 08:18, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I apologize, this wasn't the place for it, no matter how I feel. KP Botany 17:59, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! - MPF 22:05, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
