Is TNSM a Wahabi Group?

Flarkins, do you undersand the difference between Deobandi and Wahabi? I don't care if you think your claims that TNSM is Wahabi are sourced or not. FYI, I've never heard of the South Asian Terrorism Portal before, and obviously they lack expertise in the area of Islamic militant groups.

Let me ask you a question, are the Taliban Wahabi? If you think so, you lack a basic understanding of these terms. Please look them up before reverting old edits.

And, just to briefly summarize the difference: Deobandi's follow a strict interpretation of Imam Hanafi's fiqh and therefore fall under mainstream Sunni Islam. Wahabi's, although Sunni, fall outside the mainstream because they do not follow nay of the four main jurists consistently. Both the Taliban and TNSM are Deobandi. Arab groups tend more often to be Wahabi. There is only one homegrown Pakistani group w/a Wahabi influence, and that is one of the Kashmiri liberation groups (forget the name offhand).

Obviously, though, don't take my word for it: go and research the topic a little deeper yourself.

The idea that TNSM is Wahabi inclined is supported by this source: http://home.comcast.net/~christine_fair/pubs/Fair_CSA_2008.pdf on page 100. Please realize that per WP: verifiability the threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth. Please do not remove verified material.RDavi404 (talk) 13:25, 20 April 2009 (UTC)

Removal of Blog as Reference

I'm going to removal a reference because it is a self-published blog (http://pakistan-itsnotwhatpeoplesee.blogspot.com/2008/12/nsm-tehreek-e-nafaz-e-shariat-e.html). I'm also removing another reference because it is a blog (http://www.rantburg.com/rantburg/poparticle.php?D=2007-12-10&ID=212383). Although the blog does link to a news article (http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=2007/12/10/story_10-12-2007_pg7_22), that article does not mention Sufi Muhammad or TNSM by name.RDavi404 (talk) 15:53, 18 February 2009 (UTC)
