How's got an idea that Bar is more elite that Sutomore? Jesus... --Milan Tešović 05:52, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
Sutomore in Albania Veneta
[edit]According to some sources Sutomore did not exist until the end of 19th century. There was only Spič, Spizza on Italian and its castle Haj Nehaj. This article should be rewritten.--Antidiskriminator (talk) 20:56, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
- Spič was actually renamed to Sutomore by then. --Ruleja (talk) 23:09, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
- It's not entirely that it was renamed. Spič is the name of the region spanning along the coast from Željeznica river in the south to Kufin mountain in the north. Sutomore on the other hand is a town. Back in medieval times all the villages where people actually lived were further up in the mountains to be protected from pirate attacks (like many settlements on the montenegrin coast). In the 19th century the pirate threats had subsided and that's when the settlement of Sutomore directly on the coast is first mentioned. Nowdays most people of course live in Sutomore proper, so it's become kind of a name for all the villages around it as well, but technically, Spič and Sutomore are two different things Lukakov512 (talk) 13:39, 6 June 2022 (UTC)
