Nuumber of death citations[edit]
Why does this article need four citations to support the death announcement? Isn't one enough? If they are interesting reading, then the links belong in "External links" section. Ihardlythinkso (talk) 15:28, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
Bold Claim Backed by Weak Evidence[edit]
"His list of first-place finishes in international chess competitions is one of the longest and includes such events as Mar del Plata 1950, Stockholm 1954, Belgrade 1964, Manila 1968, Lone Pine 1972 and 1979, etc."
There is no citation that Gligoric has "one of the longest" list of first-place finishes. The only backing offered for the claim is six (!) tournament wins. This should be documented or removed. GeneCallahan (talk) 14:12, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
- Disagree entirely. This is an utterly obvious statement that follows directly from the fact that he was a world-class grandmaster who regularly competed in international tournaments for 30 years. Yes, there would be value in having a more comprehensive list of his successes; that would be a nice addition to the article and might be a good project for someone to take on. It is petty and nit-picky for the existing statement to be removed until that list is added to the article. -- Bill-on-the-Hill (talk) 15:19, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
