Other Singles?

[edit]

There are a few Radio Only singles missing, such as "Psycho", "Innervisions" and "Violent Pornography"

The Metro

[edit]

There seems to be a lack of THE METRO.

Be more specific. SOADLuver 00:42, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Last time I checked, I never found the Metro to be a single…

Kill Rock n Roll single?

[edit]

Where can I find a source for this? I recall the band saying that this song *isn't* going to be a single.

B-Sides

[edit]

Friik! Where did it come from? Was it an unrealeased STA track that leaked on the internet?

It was a demo from the 1995 sessions and a demo on the 1997 sessions.

RIAA

[edit]

Where is the source for the current RIAA certifications?I have a feelling they're wrong like thet have before. SOADLuver 00:40, 11 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

'Defy you' (and other material)

[edit]

what's up with this? IT describes it as an alternate version of 'nuguns'.. The tracklisting appears to be - 1. everytime 2. virginity 3. streamline 4. waiting for you (ver. 1) 5. we don't give a 6. side of the freeway 7. on my mind 8. want me to try 9. why 10. power struggle 11. therapy 12. outer space 13. your own pace 14. defy you 15. waiting for you (ver. 2)..

There's really no documentation of this album, so is it just an unreleased recording session?

Untitled 1995 demo tape

[edit]

Can ANYONE tell me where I can find some songs from this very rare demo? Even SOADfans.com doesn't have it! I heard that some people have listened to it but they are keeping it to themselfs…

soadfans.com just added that demo around 1.5 moths ago if you still need it. Dissectional 02:31, 8 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I ran by this article for a System of a Down album

[edit]

The article titled "Maximum (album)" is about System of a Down's (unofficial?) biographical album. Should a link to it be added here? Antmusic 21:02, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I added it in the SOAD info boxWeirdoYYY 01:04, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

IT AINT BEEN AUTHORISED BY S.O.A.D.!!!! Bane II 15:05, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lonely Day EP

[edit]

Look, who deleted my post about the Lonely Day EP? In Britain, one cannot import singles from the US. Loney Day was released in the UK as a one track single for a limited time, as per usual, and then it disappeared. Lonely Day EP was released late 2006 and was only for sale in HMV as "HMV Import - The Limited Edition Lonely Day EP, featuring the single, Lonely Day, 4 rare tracks and the video for Lonely Day" This was priced £7.99, the same amount as an album/ extended play.

There was a Lonely Day single... and there is a Lonely Day EP. Bane II 09:50, 26 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

1995 Demos Clips

[edit]

In the old artical for it someone mentioned that there has been clips of the songs released...Anyone care to share? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 216.8.148.222 (talk) 21:24, 2 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

They were on Youtube but the user took them down. What a douche.

I thought that was just a guy playing PIG on Bass? :S WeirdoYYY 03:47, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He played all the tape's tracks. gracz54 09:12, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey everyone! The tape has been leaked and it can be found on SOADFANS.com

Place to download the demos?

[edit]

I have searched all over the internet, and all I have come up with in full are the 4 demo tapes, and the Steal This Album demos (Toxicity 2). I have found various songs from the other demos, but not the full things. Can anyone guide me in the direction of the full demos?--Readytodie 22:31, 7 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I reccomend SOADfans.com in the audio download forum or in the download section itself 216.8.147.209 03:57, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Patterns- Cover song

[edit]

First off, thanks all of you for putting more System Of A Down things on here.

I found this song awhile ago called "patterns", System Of A Down sung it as a cover for Black Sabbath. Could someone tell me what album it's from, if there was even one for it. And one more thing, did System Of A Down even sing "The legend Of Zelda" song, i've been getting mixed things from people around me. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.204.5.126 (talk) 14:47, 8 May 2007 (UTC).[reply]

okay here is the facts...

patterns is NOT a cover song its a guest appearence with Serj Tankian for the Black Sabbath Guitarist Tony Iomi and his solo album. SOAD coverd the song SNowblind as read before hand.. And for the record Ledgend of Zelda ISNT SOAD but I do say it sounds like them alot...

The Legend of Zelda song is by Rabbit Joint. BlooWilt on the wikiprowl, later! (talk) 16:45, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Remove airplay only singles?

[edit]

How about we remove the airplay only singles and convert these articles into song articles instead? I think airplay only singles don't have much sense. What do you think? gracz54 (talk) 21:30, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Demos go up to Steal This Album?

[edit]

I just got a little question. Were any of the demo songs released on to Mezmerize? BlooWilt on the wikiprowl, later! 17:41, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Two toxicity promos mentioned!

[edit]

The "Not Final Master" issue of toxicity is identical to the the toxicity promo release. Does anyone insist on having them both mentioned? If not I would prefer deleting the "toxicity promo" and adding the information concerning the differences compared with the final release to the "Not Final Master" release because this is actually based on a CD release! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.245.118.210 (talk) 08:57, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nopee 216.8.133.160 (talk) 01:25, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nahh 216.8.149.112 (talk) 04:52, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The CD actually differs (in the tracklist). gracz54 (talk) 08:59, 22 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Canadian peak position

[edit]

Why there isn't canadian peak position for albums of System of a Down. Toxicity and Mezmerire debuted at N.1 in Canada —Preceding unsigned comment added by DanieleDiStefano (talkcontribs) 22:43, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Other certifications

[edit]

Soad have certification in other country : Australia(ARIA): Toxicity - 2xPlatium, ,steal this album - Gold, Mezmerize - Platinum, Hypnotize - Gold. Germany (IFPI): Toxicity - Gold, Mezmerize - Gold, Hypnotize - Gold. Netherland(NVPI): Toxicity - Gold. Argentina(CAPIF): Toxicity - Gold, Mezmerize - Gold. 25 November 2008

Update

[edit]

When was the certifications last updated? I have a feeling at least Mezmerize and maybe their debut are 2x Platinum in US now. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Revan ltrl (talkcontribs) 18:17, 21 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Missing singles

[edit]

Spiders was most certainly a single, why isn't it listed? Titan50 (talk) 21:02, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand this either. "Spiders", "Innervision" and "Kill Rock 'n Roll" were charting singles and the first two are definitely notable. AcousticSynth (talk) 03:08, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

All these are promotional songs for radio airplay, that did chart on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks (...a ranking in Billboard magazine of the most-played songs on mainstream rock radio stations...) and Hot Modern Rock Tracks (...a music chart in the United States that has appeared in Billboard magazine since September 10, 1988. It lists the forty most-played songs on modern rock radios...). Cannibaloki 05:08, 29 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
i've added a promotional singles table so the band's chart information is complete. Doc StrangeMailboxLogbook 21:44, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Compilation songs

[edit]

Obviously I'm not 100% on WP Official Policy related to previously-unreleased or limited-release songs contributed to compilations. While the only one I'm aware of is "Shame" from the Loud Rocks compilation (recorded with RZA of the Wu-Tanng Clan), there may be others. There is a brief mention of the song on the main System of a Down page but it doesn't appear in the summary discography on that page nor is there a mention of it (or others) on this page. Perhaps a new section or chart may be in order? The Dark Ride (talk) 00:49, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

War?

[edit]

"War?" should be added in the music videos section. It may have not been a single ,but there was still a music video. Blsupr (talk) 03:20, 21 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Update

[edit]

Both Mezmerize and Hypnotize went platinum in the US within weeks of their releases. That was five years ago, and I'm positive that their sales haven't struck a nation-wide boycott. Any updates? Revan ltrl (talk) 16:34, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Greatest Hits

[edit]

I seem to recall that they came out with a "greatest hits" kind of album a few years ago. If this is proven true, is it relevant to the article?

Cathys Son (talk) 08:46, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Songs that not entered the billboard hot 100

[edit]

Why those songs are signed with a chart postition? e.g. question is on 102 because it was on no. 2 of another smaller hit list. i think that isnt necessary and warp the information of the article.--92.231.0.250 (talk) 16:12, 14 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Storaged Melodies

[edit]

According a Discogs entry, « Made in the year 2002, [Storaged Melodies] is a bootleg CD of unreleased songs, including the song "Will They Die For You" (featuring other artists) on the South Park Chef Aid Soundtrack, and "The Metro", featured on the "Not Another Teen Movie" Original Movie Soundtrack. "Marmalade" was included in the soundtrack of the movie, "Strangeland" and "Storaged" in "Heavy Metal 2000". ».

On the Spanish Wikipedia, I see an album article es:Storaged Melodies, linked in es:Anexo:Discografía de System of a Down as Otras publicaciones.

How could we describe this, in a section Others works? With what reference/source here? --Dereckson (talk) 17:46, 27 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Temptatively, I prepared this edit with references to Discogs and Rate Your Music. --Dereckson (talk) 18:09, 27 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced "Demo albums" section

[edit]

The "Demo albums" section is entirely unsourced. Should this be kept? Seems odd for a featured list. ---Another Believer (Talk) 03:27, 14 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
