Reason for clean-up

[edit]

Reasons for reverts. Please unless you have a proper answer to these questions don't re-add these entries. Tapuria Please see WP:UE. Tapuria is not used in English references. The more common name for that historical region is Tabaristan.

Kingdom of Tapuria: This article is talking about Tabaristan in general and not a kingdom. Check the meaning of Kingdom in dictionaries. The article is talking about many different dynasties and rulers that once exists and history of that region (Tabaristan) in general and not a single kingdom.

Former Country: Show me somewhere somebody is talking about a country which was called Tapuria or even a king form that region that called himself the king of the country of Tapuria. The category of former countries is not applied here. Since Achamaenids, Tabaristan was part of these Iranian dynasties till collapse of Sassanids, after occupation of Iran by Arabs they were part of Islamic Empire like rest of Iran. Of course like other parts of Iran local rulers rose but when Iran was reunified by Safavids, Tabaristan re-incorporated in the mainland.

Did Kingdom of Tapuria really exist or it is only your imagination: I have not found any scholarly book under this name (Kingdom of Tapuria). Don't invent a name in English. There was not such a kingdom under this name.

Coat of arm and flags of unheard dynasties. Do you have a reference for them? These are simply OR.--Larno (talk) 23:16, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Be merge

[edit]

Hi. I know that this edit is wrong. Because, If you can visit this page, you'll see that "whose name (Hyrcania) is perhaps preserved in Tabaristan". So, we are not "a perhaps enyclopedia", isn't it? And, I've removed this template.--Sabri76'message 16:29, 18 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Article protected

[edit]

I saw on the recent changes patrol what appeared to be an edit war, mainly between users Alefbe and Parthava. I have protected the last version (which is almost certainly the m:wrong version) for a week because this to and fro needs to stop. Please discuss this dispute on this talk page instead of continuing to fight it out through reverts. Sjakkalle (Check!) 08:57, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Certainly wrong version? It was what existed at first before any manipulations (Just removing materials) Further discussion is in your talk page --Parthava (talk) 04:33, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Poor sources, fringe claims, a made-up "coat of arms".... This article is anything, but an encyclopedic entry. --Kurdo777 (talk) 15:57, 26 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Conquest by Arabs

[edit]

Reading this article gives the impression that Tabaristan was not conquered by Arabs during the Arab conquest of Persia, but while it seems to be one of the last provinces captured, sources such as this one: http://www.iranchamber.com/literature/articles/islam_poetry_iran1.php say it was in 652 AD. Great chunks of history are missing

For instance, nothing on the Mongol conquests of this area. HammerFilmFan (talk) 20:29, 29 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
