I reverted the edits to the images because the image file names were edited, thereby removing the images, but leaving garbage code. Please feel free to either remove the images, or edit the captions if the images should stay, but don't edit the image name if the image should stay. --KP Botany (talk) 18:41, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:French marigold Tagetes patula.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on December 23, 2010. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2010-12-23. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :) Thanks! howcheng {chat} 00:40, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

French marigold
The French marigold (Tagetes patula) is an annual flowering plant in the daisy family. The flowers are used to make food coloring as well as dyes for textiles. The plants are also distilled for their essential oils, which are then used in perfumes, and they are also being investigated for anti-fungal properties.Photo: Muhammad Mahdi Karim
