Rename

[edit]

Since this article is about a governmental agency of the ROC, per our convention of using "Republic of China" for government and Taiwan for the place, this article should be renamed to "National Space Organization (Republic of China)". Does anyone object to such a move? Readin (talk) 23:33, 5 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article should be located at National Space Organization to prevent unnecessary disambiguation. --Joshua Issac (talk) 21:07, 30 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Location

[edit]

Apparently we are having issues of what exactly is a 'government' and 'location'. As I've said this many times before, Taiwan Island is a Geographical entity, Hsinchu is a City, it is a Political Entity, same as Taiwan Province and the ROC. The Tawian Province and ROC are not governments, they are entities composed of a government and territory. The government of the ROC is the government of the Republic of China and same with the Province. The political entities themselves have a specific location. If what you are claiming is so, then that means the USA, Canada, Mexico, Russia, Kazastan, and every other political entities are not locations but governments. The definition of a state itself says that a state is a political entity in which that has TERRITORY, population, and government. What does that mean? That means that the ROC, which is a political state, has a government, territory, and population, meaning that the RoC is not a government, but it HAS a government as well as territory and population. Liu Tao (talk) 03:57, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

So tell me, what is the territory of the ROC? Readin (talk) 14:53, 6 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of Interest

[edit]

I've noticed the section "Developments and Long Term Plans" may have a problem with COI. Using phrases "state of the art", "cutting edge"... etc are not NPOV. The text was originally written by User:103.17.199.29 but have been removed by User:Mfb due to concerns about the article. It has been readded word for word by User:103.250.141.161.

Other editors: please check for other places where COI may not have been followed and I didn't catch yet. Thanks. BigBryan0 (talk) 16:03, 14 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Without using the revert function, to make the edit less visible. Deliberately? I suggest to revert the IP edit. --mfb (talk) 16:10, 14 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You're right. None of the sources given supported the text. I've removed the edit. Thanks. BigBryan0 (talk) 03:03, 15 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
After fixing this interesting error, I wonder how much of the article we can trust without an explicit source for every statement that could be questioned. That unsourced, political sensitive, and apparently wrong statement was in the article since 2005! Together with a claim that the satellites have more than 4 times the density of any known material... --mfb (talk) 14:24, 15 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Kinda sad isn't it? This one will be needing a lot of cleanup work. BigBryan0 (talk) 15:18, 15 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
List of human spaceflight programs is another article to watch. --mfb (talk) 18:06, 17 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, Sorry to butt in here but I landed on this page searching for disruptive edits by an IP hopper who has been disrupting a list of Taiwan related articles. Hsiung Feng III, Tuo Chiang-class corvette, Taiwan and weapons of mass destruction, National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology, Brahmos, Brain size is a list of articles which I have found so far apart from the 2 mentioned above which bear the same footprint. One thing me and other editors did discover is that this editor uses a VPN and constantly changes IP thus making it very difficult to keep track of the exact range of articles disrupted. Just wanted to leave this as a warning. Thanks Adamgerber80 (talk) 04:31, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't know about the activities outside the two spaceflight articles. Even more to revert then. --mfb (talk) 20:08, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Here is another one Human spaceflight. Maybe we should open a discussion somewhere so we can marshal our resources and get some admins involved. Any ideas? Adamgerber80 (talk) 21:04, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Add Lunar lander to the list. I think I got all. This looks organized, whoever is editing those pages probably reads the discussion here as well. --mfb (talk) 22:59, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nuclear power in Taiwan, Energy in Taiwan, various Taiwanese institutions, even more institutions. @Adamgerber80 and BigBryan0: Yes, we should get Admins involved. I'm not familiar with the procedures here, what would be the best approach? --mfb (talk) 18:01, 11 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

mfb, I did start a discussion with one admin here [1]. Please feel free to chime in and present your view. There are many other articles which the same IP editor has affected apart from the ones mentioned above. He uses a VPN to hop IP's and is difficult to keep track of. Adamgerber80 (talk) 18:52, 11 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I summarized the IP edits there. --mfb (talk) 20:00, 11 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
