Name query

[edit]

Anyone know the story behind his unusual first name? --MartinUK 21:48, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, he was born with it. No crazy story. Possibly parents on drugs, but that's as far as it'd go. Who knows about that side, though. --lincalinca 13:14, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was born Chadley Blake Thompson. No one ever called me Chadley, so....Chad. In my teens I was in a band with another "Thompson", unrelated, so I dropped my last name to avoid confusion. The "T" comes from my first trip to Africa in 1977. Everyone there spelled my name "Tchad" as that's how they spelled the name of the country which was a French colony. It's just the French spelling of my name, which I adopted.Tchadb (talk) 11:53, 25 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

California

[edit]

To the uninformed masses, I think Blake's best known for being the remix artist of the version of Phantom Planet's "California" that was used as the intro to The OC. In recognition of that, perhaps "California" bears individual mention.
