Add topic for fruit fly control

[edit]

Greetings, I'm no bio expert. May I suggest adding a section on how to control or eliminate fruit flies? It was the reason I looked this up. Responsiblebum 08:57, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

divisions

Shouldn't the subfamilies listen in the text be in the taxobox and the genera listed in the different subfamily pages? Plcoffey (talk) 23:23, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Extermination!

[edit]

If you would like to get rid of these little buggers but don't have time to mess around with bottle traps and vinegar, try this, "Oven Trap" method.

  • Cover your plates, food, and appliances with plastic sheeting.
  • Place the fruit (like a banana) on the middle rack of the oven.
  • Leave the oven door overnight. The flies will then swarm towards the fruit.
  • The next day, quietly close the oven door and set it to 300 degrees.
  • After all the flies have roasted to their death, clean out the oven.
