Monomer or dimer?
[edit]Congratulations on getting these pages on DYK.
Reading the article, it is not clear to me whether the monomer can exist as such or whether only the dimer can be observed under "normal" conditions (I believe that the free radical monomers can be observed as a short-lived species in flow tubes). The lead suggests that the monomer can be observed, but the title of the article is the dimer.
On a more general point, the putative monomer needs to be named as dimetyl monoborane because of possible ambiguity with other dimethyl oligo-boranes, not just the B2 species, TMDB.
