Added citations
[edit]I have added {{cite web}} tags to replace the external links that were being used in references, examining the HTML code for the page to copy the "title=" value ... in the course of this, I removed a link to page that was simply a second reprint of a NYT article (no point in linking to two reprints of the same article, but not the original!) ... I also discovered that there were duplicates of references to the same article (uni-halle.de), so I used a "name=" tag to make a single citation.
Having done all that, I find that there is really not enough independent, 3rd party coverage of the subject to satisfy WP:N for this organization, and the author appears to be attempting to inflate the subject's notability by using multiple references to the same sites, incluing numerous refs to the subject's "About Us" page as the only citation for many claims.
Now that I can see what is actually being referenced (it was pretty obscure before), I will go back and replace some with {{cite news}} instead of {{cite web}}. --72.75.72.174 20:02, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
- This "article" looks like an attempt by the author to promote the 5 websites listed in the "Sites" section (one of which, http://www.quran.al-shia.com , is a bogus GoDaddy domain name) ... the house of cards is falling as the articles created by Striver (talk · contribs) are being deleted for lack of WP:RS and WP:V to satisfy WP:NOTE for the subjects ... the most often cited reference is the subject's own website, and that is not a Good Thing ... aside from university directories and one frequently reprinted NYT article, there is nothing that shows how this organization meets WP:ORG guideline criteria. --72.75.72.174 21:13, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Regarding this reference you just added, you have already been shown how to make a proper {{cite news}} or {{cite web}} reference ... I am not repairing any more of the ones that you create in Wikipedia articles ... and I have reverted that edit because it is just another reprint of the same 2006-06-08 NYT article by Michael Slackman ... having multiple links to the same source is redundant ... or are you afraid that the copy on the iht.com site might evaporate, so you want a backup for the citation? --72.75.85.159 00:38, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
Objections?
[edit]anon, lets see, are you disputing that (a) Sistani is notable, or that (b) this is sistanis organization, or (c) that the organization is notable? --Striver - talk 16:46, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
