Cover photo in article

[edit]

In 2011 a request for a photo was added here on the talk page. In 2012 the request was removed as a photo had been added. Recently a 2011 cover photo has been removed without replacement, sometimes with the justification that 2011 is too old. A journal that has published for since 1980 doesn't require a cover photo of a particular vintage. Given the range of years involved 2011 on the recent end of things. I suggest we leave the photo in place unless there is consensus reached here to remove it or replace it with another. Gab4gab (talk) 00:11, 18 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Gab4gab: Do you know why the Darrin Doyle page has been taken down? It was up when I added the link (and therefore the link wasn't red). And sometimes it does make sense to add a red link when it's likely that a page will come online.Chain27 (talk) 23:40, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Chain27: Articles on Darrin Doyle have been deleted twice via AFD nominations. If you click on the red link it will open a page giving you links to those discussions but I'll list them here:

I didn't see the articles so I'm just going by the two deletions with one being just a week ago. The consensus is that he's not yet notable. So a red link is not helpful. The purpose of red link being to encourage editors to write the article and in this case it's very likely to be deleted again. Gab4gab (talk) 02:15, 6 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the info.Chain27 (talk) 05:11, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
