Potential problems for the GA nomination

[edit]

After chancing on this article by chance, I noticed a few potential problems:

  1. The Plot section is too long. MOS:Film states that summary should be "between 400 and 700 words".
  2. Many references are not inline citations, which is one of GA requirements. (criteria 2b)
  3. "File:Dawn treader.jpg" has not met non-free image criteria. (It is too big, and it has only one non-free rationale even though it is used for two articles)
  4. (My personal opinion) I think there is an over-citation problem in certain sections.

These are some of the more obvious problems I noted. Feel free to contact me should you need any clarifications or help. Good luck for the GA nomination!--Lionratz (talk) 09:13, 6 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Just going to say it didn't see some of these problems, then I noticed the date of the above.
  1. The plot section is 591 words (I haven't read it though)
  2. I converted the only extlink I found into a ref. There are some bare urls which could be converted (is this a GA requirement?)
  3. I removed the image from Dawn Treader it needs a separate non-free rationale there. I've tagged it {{tl:non-free reduce}}, I might be able to do this myself later.

Just another comment that left justified images should be after the first paragraph in a section reading the MOS Wikipedia:Images#Location, but I don't this as a GA requirement. Edgepedia (talk) 15:03, 15 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please comment back when problems are solved

Problems
  • Dead links found and tagged.
  • There are bare urls in the references.
  • Red link in Narnian Cast for Arabella Morton. If no one is going to create the page then please remove the link.
  • Few bare urls are there in the ending sections. Try to add the retrieve or access dates to them.
Accolades
  • First line. Too many references just to prove one statement.
  • Regarding the table. Merge the References column into the Award column. The format is obsolete.

IF NO THERE IS NO REPLY FROM 7 DAYS NOW AFTER THIS NOTICE THE ARTICLE WILL FAIL GA. ASHUIND 05:17, 7 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Failing GA since no response from nominator after long waiting. ASHUIND 03:11, 15 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

C.S. Lewis was a well-documented Christian, and as his Wikipedia page even cites in the "Christian apologist" section, to him, Aslan was supposed to represent Jesus.

So, in the plot summary for this film, at the part that says "Aslan encourages them to know him in their world by another name", should we link "another name" to the Wikipedia page for Jesus of Nazareth? It's pretty obvious what or who Aslan is referring to. Or should we respect the "death of the author"? I'm not Christian, don't want to offend anyone or step on any toes.

Thanks. HalfHazard98 (talk) 09:15, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

FWIW, this was previously "discussed" here, though I acknowledge that it's exaggerating to call it a "discussion". DonIago (talk) 13:23, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
