The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come → The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come (1961 film) – If anything is the primary topic for this name, it's the 1903 novel on which this film is based. It happens that no-one has written an article about the novel yet, but it definitely exceeds this film in long-term significance (e.g. it's mentioned in Kentucky#Literature as the first novel to sell a million copies in the US, and it's the namesake of Kingdom Come State Park). This article does exceed the other two film adaptations in pageviews, but we don't know how many people arrive at this article looking for the novel (it's telling that, at time of writing, 7 of 29 mainspace wikilinks to this article are actually intended to refer to the novel). For now I would suggest the basename become a disambiguation page. Colin M (talk) 14:34, 13 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Comment To make life easier for the closer, it would probably help if you could indicate your preference between 1) WP:NOPRIMARY or 2) Making The Little Shepherd of Kingdom Come (novel) the primary topic. (And whether you would support the other option as a second choice, in preference to the status quo.) To clarify my own position, I support either option over the status quo, but am leaning slightly towards WP:NOPRIMARY. I do think the novel has a plausible claim to being primary, but I would rather wait a year or so to see what the pageviews look like. @Crouch, Swale: would you care to clarify your !vote?
