International broadcast
[edit]The "International broadcast" section reads like TV Guide, which it should not. It is completely unsourced as to notability in the countries listed. Since this section has never been anything but an unsourced list (first addition) I deleted the entire section. One Fat Squirrel (talk) 19:07, 11 August 2012 (UTC)

January 1.8.2015 the copper bullet
[edit]There was a statement right at the end of the copper bullet that said " In memory of Daniele Aranda" who is this and did they die? I would like to see the Mentalist continue. The best entertainment without being offensive my husband and i have watched every year. Sad to see it go off the air. Any chance of one more year........{:) Don Wischmeier smwischmeier@gmail.com Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.197.232.205 (talk) 04:24, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
Unfortunate title
[edit]The series title in unfortunate in that 'mentalist' is British slang for someone who is mentally ill, what Americans would call a 'nut job' or 'whack job'. See [1]. --Ef80 (talk) 18:55, 29 May 2015 (UTC) Edit: This is not true. In the UK slang would be "he's mental" meaning "crazy". There is no such title as "Mentalist in the British Health System.
- This is mentioned at Mentalist (disambiguation). Talk pages are for discussing the content of articles and not the subject in general. PrimeHunter (talk) 22:27, 29 May 2015 (UTC)
- Ef80, if you can find a respectable UK source with a writeup about the "unfortunate" nature of the title as you call it then it might be appropriate to include that into the article under "Reception". I've been searching for years for such a source to include with the WP article for the Free Willy franchise. Koala Tea Of Mercy (KTOM's Articulations & Invigilations) 22:56, 16 January 2016 (UTC)
Official show link has been removed from CBS website for reasons unknown.
[edit]I just had to delete the "Official Website" under external links in the main article. For some reason CBS has completely removed the series from their website, including all related pages. There is one trace of the show they haven't removed (yet): a thumbnail for the series on their general "SHOWS" page (the thumbnail says "The Mentalist: A New Beginning" with a picture of Patrick Jane smiling). Anybody have any (sourced/citable) idea why the removal? Why the subtitle "A New Beginning" ... perhaps a series restart?
