Keeping the trivia out
[edit]Firstly this is just a list. This is not a replacement for content in the Leno article. There was so much info, that it would have been difficult to keep good quality prose if I were to mention all pantomimes in the Leno pantomime section and it would have become borderline repetitive...Next Leno starred in...Next Leno starred in. ...Next Leno starred in etc. That's not to say I will not write about them in the Leno article, because I will. I know not all pantomimes need to be mentioned in the Leno article, but this way ALL characters and shows get a mention, leaving the more important and prominent performances to have a mention in the Leno article itself. Any thoughts? -- Cassianto (talk) 00:05, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
- Quite right. Leno's main article should only discuss his major productions. This list should be as complete as you can make it. -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:14, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
Separate section for reference
[edit]Would it be better to separate the reference and give it its own section? The reason is because some of the notes do not conform to the reference given. The extra reference I am adding is to show the reliability of the notes. I know this is given at the bottom of the table by Anthony, but I didn't want to rely simply on one source alone. To me, it is tidier giving the ref its own section. At the moment, the Anthony ref proves the play was in existence and so would just cover that fact alone but he does not state what is in the notes. Separating the reference would indicate the ref was for the entire column as opposed to being about one particular cell. -- CassiantoTalk 13:20, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
- I don't understand the question. Which "reference"? Could you try to clarify what you are asking? Can you give an example of another list article that does what you are thinking of? As usual, I would ask you to please slow down. -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:14, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
Title
[edit]This is a list of all the legit theatre productions (that is, NOT music hall appearances) of Leno. Several of the productions listed are NOT pantomimes, and I suspect that this list is missing some, if not many, of Leno's non-pantomime productions. -- Ssilvers (talk) 17:14, 15 January 2013 (UTC)
Repeated information
[edit]Style questions:
- Should repeated names be bluelinked more than once? Theatre names? Genre names? What do other FA-quality lists do?
- Should people's names be repeated in full? For example, if Augustus Harris is named, why not just say Harris the second time? -- Ssilvers (talk) 07:25, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
- If the table is sortable then the names should be in full and the links repeated. If a reader changes the order by sorting, then the first link (or name) will change to something unlinked or incomplete. Where the full names or links are repeated then this problem is overcome. - SchroCat (talk) 07:30, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
- OK, thanks for this explanation. -- Ssilvers (talk) 07:42, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
