[edit]He seems like an important scientist. To me, the intro makes it clear his (if marginal) significance. -- Taku (talk) 23:16, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- Here is a link to a New York Times article quoting Hanks. And here he is called "a geophysicist and earthquake expert at the U.S. Geological Survey in Menlo Park" .J. Van Meter (talk) 02:07, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
- One more: link to Hanks profile at " Princeton Alumni Weekly." J. Van Meter (talk) 02:29, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
I dont believe this guy is important enough to be on wikipedia, many people are quoted by journals that does not mean they should be in a Encyclopedia. I suggest this entry to be deleted. Simbioz (talk) 18:47, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
- Why is he not important? Wikipedia should have a good coverage of prominent seismologists. Isn't he one of them? -- Taku (talk) 23:17, 28 November 2009 (UTC)
