Unexplained changes

[edit]

There was a long, and I think pretty good article that was removed without any discussion this weekend. The article was replaced by an Anon poster (208.58.204.88) with a single paragraph that essentially just gave the subject's birthdate and listed his discography. Unless there's some explanation for why this change occurred or how it's an improvement, we should go back to the version last edited by Skapur on 2006-Dec-10. Re: Unexplained changes

That "pretty good article" was sourceless and much of it was not true. That's why it was removed. The article up there now is true, but mostly opinion, which is against Wikipedia policy. It's supposed to be factual, not opinion about songwriting or stage performances. 12.130.99.196 (talk) 00:33, 9 January 2008 (UTC)Anon 208.58.204.8812.130.99.196 (talk) 00:33, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As an editor at Crawdaddy!, and to comply with COI guidelines, I am not posting the link to this new interview with Todd Snider. However, I would like to recommend it on its merits, and hope that an editor will find the time to examine the interview and—if he or she sees fit—post it to the external links section. I appreciate your time. Crawdaddy! [1]

Missing: Substance Battles, Elmo Buzz

[edit]

Seems like there should be some mention of his latest EP Shit Sandwich released as Elmo Buzz and Eastside Bulldogs, or at least of the side gig's existence. Also, Snider has certainly been open and given plenty of details about his history with drugs and alcohol. It seems like since these factors have influenced his music that more should be added about that. Thoughts? Anyone out there familiar with reliable sources? The comment(s) below were originally left at Talk:Todd Snider/Comments, and are posted here for posterity. Following several discussions in past years, these subpages are now deprecated. The comments may be irrelevant or outdated; if so, please feel free to remove this section.

This article has a good start on biographical information, but is more promotional than encyclopedic. Either cite specific sources showing critical acclaim or remove reference to them. Alan 19:15, 27 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Too long and too much detail

[edit]

I've added "Very long" and "Too much detail" templates to the article, in hopes of encouraging editors to improve it. I think the article could use both a reduction in excessive details and more sub-section formatting to make the article more readable and less a wall of text. See Wikipedia:Too much detail.
