Suggested improvement, separate article for church?

[edit]

The page is so heavily, textually and pictorially, taken up with the parish church that I suggest a separate article on the church, which surely must be a Listed building, be devoted to it, with summary details left in what is primarily an article about the parish/village. (It may be in pipeline unbeknown to me - if not I have grouped the paragraphs and pictures under a section 'Church' to make a potential nucleus for a future article.)Cloptonson (talk) 08:06, 22 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sir Richard Vernon

[edit]

The caption statement that the Sir Richard Vernon who died in 1451 was the same one Shakespeare gave as executed for treason in Henry IV Part I is erroneous as King Henry died in 1413 when the man on the tomb was about 23. There was a Sir Richard Vernon executed after being captured on the rebel side in the Battle of Shrewsbury in 1403 who was possibly an older namesake relative with whom there may be confusion.
