Contested deletion

[edit]

Isn't it public if it's from his own company website? Chursaner (talk) 14:52, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Someone has listed the article for deletion because "it's a very short article lacking sufficient context to identify the subject of the article". The photo is a separate issue. regardsTheroadislong (talk) 15:04, 9 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Right sorry about that - I was asking about the photo separately (turns out it is definitely under copyright) and as for the length I am working on it gradually but it definitely will be expanded. Many apologies. Could we remove that flag and instead put the stub template? Chursaner (talk) 14:12, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

BLP problems

[edit]

The article currently heavily implies that Tony Podesta committed a crime ("violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act"), even though WP:BLPCRIME says we can only say that if and when he's found guilty by a court of law, so WP:ALLEGED is appropriate here. Also, a New York Post editorial page is not WP:RS to describe the nature of the investigation as a "criminal inquiry". If these problems persist, I will take this to WP:BLP/N. FallingGravity 20:32, 30 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The "criminal inquiry" part is from NBC News [1] among other sources, not the New York Post op-ed. Please refrain from any unilateral removal without discussion and violation of WP:OWN.--Certified Gangsta (talk) 02:31, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Why don't you use that instead of the crappy Post article? The article still has the BLP issues I mentioned. FallingGravity 03:31, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I tried to use as many sources as possible. Feel free to take out the NY Post source. I don't really care. But the content should stay since they're backed by other sources.--Certified Gangsta (talk) 08:53, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
As mentioned by NorthBySouthBaranof, the content violates WP:BLPCRIME, so I'm changing it. FallingGravity 18:07, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
It didn't violate anything and regardless you shouldn't have changed the sub-heading. "Facing criminal inquiry" is word-by-word quote from the NBC article and it does not imply he's guilty. Gimme a break and stop trying to inject your personal bias into this article. WP:OWN has no place on Wikipedia. This article doesn't belong to you and you don't get to make unilateral mass deletions under false pretense. And someone else already tweaked the lede (see discussion below), so frankly you're messing up a compromise.--Certified Gangsta (talk) 05:29, 1 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
We should be very careful what we say here given the absence of any formal allegations or indictments. We don't say that "Donald Trump is under criminal investigation" even though he's undoubtedly being scrutinized by Mueller as well. I have rewritten the lede accordingly. NorthBySouthBaranof (talk) 03:47, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Tweaked. 196.54.41.29 (talk) 04:11, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I have no objections with the tweaks.--Certified Gangsta (talk) 08:53, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@FallingGravity: I attempted to clarify the sentence about the investigation you tagged. Do you think there needs to be further, or is it good as stands? Hamtechperson 17:52, 2 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Investigation July 31, 2018

[edit]

I suggest to add a paragraph about this July 31, 2018 significant event. How about the draft paragraph below? Including sources.

On July 31, 2018 it was reported that Democratic lobbyist Tony Podesta was referred by special counsel Robert Mueller to federal prosecutors for investigation in New York.[1][2]
