Use of Bold to split up Episode Summaries into Segments

[edit]

I don't know if anyone has noticed this, but AussieLegend has claimed that the use of bold for identifying the show's different segments goes against the use of BOLDFACE. It comes after they changed the use of Bold for Series 22, and put down mention of this. Yet, if this is the case, why has taken so long to be picked up on, and why is the rest of the other series using BOLDFACE for segments, not being changed?

Use of boldface to provide emphasis is something that has been allowed to perpetuate, despite MOS:BOLD quite clearly sying Do not use boldface for emphasis in article text; instead use template {{em}}, or the underlying <em>...</em> HTML markup, which render as italics in most browsers. It is only now being fixed at numerous articles, but it's a big job to fix, as I briefly explained on your talk page. --AussieLegend () 13:49, 3 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Too much info

[edit]

I believe we may need to trim down information in episodes, bar the specials (for the time being), as it's a bit too much. These are meant to be short summaries, not full blown episode reviews, as it's marked when we add/edit these. Please trim down the *fat*, but keep relevant bits in. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.231.100.17 (talk) 02:51, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I mentioned this before, and I will mention again. Please can we trim down the info. These are meant to be short summaries, so each segment should not hold so much info. Bar the specials (which need to have separate pages soon), only keep in some relevant info. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.231.100.17 (talk) 22:25, 1 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Specials

[edit]

While it is nice we have information on the speicals after the India one, all written into the episode summaries, I feel that these have had enough time in there, and that they deserve separate Wiki pages, like the other specials, such as the Vietnamese, and the Middle East Special. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.231.100.17 (talk) 02:55, 26 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Gary Lineker

[edit]

Should Gary Lineker's name still be included in the "Guest" column in Episode 8? Since they haven't actually filmed his lap yet (https://twitter.com/GaryLineker/status/575583829865459712), will he still be apart of that episode because it is highly unlikely that his future schedule will be free enough to accommodate Top Gear. 81.134.72.175 (talk) 16:59, 14 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

mising

[edit]

The 10th episode of this sirise is not listed on this page 88.107.184.97 (talk) 20:28, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm assuming it's because not enough information was published regarding this episode following Clarkson's suspension. Since the remaining three episodes in the series are likely never to be broadcast, there doesn't seem much point in including them anyway. 81.130.94.30 (talk) 16:51, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
This series was planned to have ten episodes, and the article had been prepared to include them, so the information would have been present on film crew and airdate. Because of Clarkson's suspension and subsequent dismissal, the article had to be amended; the remaining episodes were pulled by the broadcaster, and the eighth was a special that was made in the wake of the incident. Colour contrast problems

[edit]

It seems that this article is using colours in the infobox which don't satisfy Wikipedia's accessibility guidelines. The contrast between the foreground colour and the background colour is low, which means that it may be difficult or impossible for people with visual impairments to read it.

To correct this problem, a group of editors have decided to remove support for invalid colours from Template:Infobox television season and other television season templates after 1 September 2015. If you would still like to use custom colours for the infobox and episode list in this article after that date, please ensure that the colours meet the WCAG AAA standard.

To test whether a colour combination is AAA-compliant you can use Snook's colour contrast tool. If your background colour is dark, then please test it against a foreground colour of "FFFFFF" (white). If it is light, please test it against a foreground colour of "000000" (black). The tool needs to say "YES" in the box for "WCAG 2 AAA Compliant" when you input the foreground and the background colour. You can generally make your colour compliant by adjusting the "Value (%)" fader in the middle box.

Please be sure to change the invalid colour in every place that it appears, including the infobox, the episode list, and the series overview table. If you have any questions about this, please ask on Template talk:Infobox television season. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 05:31, 2 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A-Z Specials

[edit]

Posted this on the "List of Episodes" page, but this page seems more specific: Should the "A-Z" specials really be included as part of Series 22? The June "finale" (of all the unseen bits) was a definitive end to the series. If at all, the "A-Z" specials should be separated, perhaps as a buffer in between Series 22 and the soon-to-be Series 23, to distinguish between the different eras? Either way, I don't think it is right to have an "unofficial" episode included in the episode list for a Series which ended 6 months ago. Thanks! 109.151.163.216 (talk) 00:05, 31 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No, the A-Z Specials are a seperate section of the show's history, that was not designed for the series originally. GUtt01 (talk) 21:42, 27 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
