Carnegie cat

[edit]

Does TPL need to be under the Andrew Carnegie category? Relatively few of the branches are Carnegie libraries. --206.248.137.140 22:06, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

There are a lot of external links to various pages on the TPL site. I'm deleting them from the article per WP:LINKS, but I'll archive them here. If any are important, please re-add them to the article. -- Intractable (talk) 06:54, 17 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

transparency comment

[edit]

I am making some edits to this page in the interests of improving article quality to Wikipedia-level standards and away from advertising language & lack of third-party references. I am an employee of the library. --Walanh (talk) 20:37, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've made quite a few edits to remove advertising language & add third-party references. I believe these are sufficient to correct the issues with the page, so I have removed the warning boxes. Hopefully the community agrees with me! --Walanh (talk) 20:57, 5 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for taking the time to do it! -- Intractable (talk) 18:16, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a number of inline citations in the hope of having the "insufficient inline citations" box removed. I, too, am a library employee. Torlib (talk) 20:44, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Library board

[edit]

How useful is it to have members of the board listed in the article? This information changes regularly and can be obtained readily on the website of the Toronto Public Library.Torontonian1 (talk) 22:26, 4 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Since I just updated this I would say useful. From this site you can link to the members (although mostly only councillors) wikipedia pages. It seems that if you were very interested in the running of this organization the governing body and the positions and priorities they represent would be very useful information. At the moment, the library website doesn't provide any sort of descriptive information about its board members. It doesn't even say which ward they represent. That's my two cents. Collections of the Toronto Public Library

[edit]

I believe that the information under the Collections heading is much too broad. It should have a sentence or two describing the vast number of multilingual materials the Library offers. The Toronto Public Library system carries many materials in many languages which is heavily used and a great resource to many patrons. Welcome! If you have some knowledge of this, and you think it is worth adding, why don't you do something about it? Note that you should have references for any major amendments. Secondarywaltz (talk) 04:25, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Toronto Public Library. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
