Reason for the Ukrainian Line

[edit]

The reason for the construction of the Ukrainian line was revised. It now reads that the reason was "it was built on the border of Zaporizhian Sich territory, which Russia lost after the Treaty of the Pruth in 1711"; this is, of course not a reason. I believe the implication is that Russia built the line as a defense against the Zaporizhians. To my knowledge, this reason is not substantiated by any credible source, and the importance of the Ukrainian line in its defense against the Crimean Tatars and the Ottoman Empire is well established.
