This edit by an IP looks good-faith and constructive at first glance, but a number of the details don't bear up to closer examination. (i) According to her obituary in the London Journal (the only one we've got), she died on 29 January, not 20 February. (ii) According to our article on Murray Edwards College, Cambridge, and the College's own website, she retired as President of New Hall in 1995 (not 1996), although her successor wasn't appointed until 1996. (iii) I can find nothing to support the claim that she was "the first female Director of the Royal Historical Society ", or even that the RHS has such a position (though it does have two Literary Directors – is that what was meant?). (iv) The edit has deleted a citation of the obituary, and I can certainly see no reason to airbrush H. J. Dyos out of the account of the foundation of the London Journal. I am going to revert the whole thing. If there's a valid reason for any of these changes, please cite a source or at least explain yourself in an edit summary.
