Talk:Vert skateboarding
Changes need to be made
[edit]Although it is generally known as "Vert". It is also common knowledge that "Vert" is an informal word variation of the word "Vertical" as in "Vertical Skateboarding". "Vertical Skateboarding" refers to the fact the the skateboarder is "Going Verticle" or "riding in the vertical style"
This article should be changed to "Vertical Skateboarding", and in the new article its slang or short-form term "Vert" should be added/noted as it's most widespread usage of the term for this very unique, distinct, and distinguished "style" of skateboarding.
To change the name would mean that changing the article itself is obligatory.
And "Vert ramps" involve "VTOL" (which is an acronym for "Vertical Take-Off and Landing" and can be associated to a skateboarder "Skateboarding in a Vertical Style" to some extent) to some deegree and are used to "Go Vertical" or "Get Vertical Air"
"Vert" or "Vert Skateboarding" should be added as a "redirect page"
It should also be noted that it is a "style" of skateboarding. And Skateboarding is all about style - refer to "Dogtown and Z-Boys" a documentary that also includes the forming, development, and advancement of this "style"

Getting Verticle Air Rules!
Vert Riders
[edit]The Search for Animal Chin has some skaters that ride in this style and are not mentioned here - I'm onto it (meaning that I'm going to watch it)...but if you have answers then you should share them with the skateboarding community.
Alex Perelson AfD
[edit]Hey. The articke about vert boarder Alex Perelson is undergoing a deletion debate. I don't think anyone involved in the debate (myself included) has anything but a superficial knowledge of skate culture. Is this lad a flash in the pan or do you think he's notable? There's been no recent discussion there and I would like to bee sure we've generated a clear consensus. Please pipe in. Thanks. - House of Scandal (talk) 16:47, 12 July 2008 (UTC)
